Shelby is a Lady Boss, an integral part of my local Mama Squad and my slightly more extroverted brain twin. She’s the kind of person I wish I’d been at her age: brave, adventurous, comfortable in her own skin and technicolor hair, and completely uninterested in fitting the mold. She is also my good, good, good friend.
Shelby is the founder and creative director of Corner Market Media, a creative agency for worldchangers. With her branding bushido and coding kung fu skills, she is about 80% responsible for A-minus Mama’s grown-up makeover and has stepped in several times over the years (we think maybe three) with a fire extinguisher after I managed to burn down my corner of cyberspace. She’s like FEMA for the Internet, except actually competent and exponentially less bureaucratic.
But the real reason I love working with Shelby (beyond the very important fact that she’s fully equipped to save my sorry butt when I dramatically overestimate my web abilities…not that this ever happens) is the authenticity she brings to her business. She isn’t afraid to be her non-dress code abiding self online because she wants to attract like-minded and like-hearted clients and is okay letting others pass by. And she helps her clients present themselves authentically as well. In her own words, she is the Edna Mode of web designers, making sure every superhero business owner gets their own virtual super suit. (Thumbs up for the Incredibles reference!)
But as Levar Burton always said, don’t take my word for it. If you are a business owner who wants to change the world, check out Corner Market Media for your creative web needs and let Lady Boss Shelby hook you up.
